WHY be ACTIVE PARENT?

Parent Vounteers-

When being a parent volunteer you have the great opportunity to be the first to find out about events, meetings, and parent workshops.

Parent volunteers also have the great advantage of developing a relationship with your child’s Principal, Teachers, and school staff.

 

Parent Workshops-

            We offer many parent workshops on many different topics that are very helpful in parent’s everyday life.

            Some of our topics we’ve offered in the past are Mental Health, Adolescent Development, Women’s Health, College and Career                           Requirements, and Everyday Nutrition.

                             

            Councils and Committees 

            Our parent committee’s and councils deal with the distribution of school budgets, making decisions on school related issues and                         receiving school data first hand.  Our monthly ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee) meeting takes place monthly every 3rd Friday of the month and is open to the community. Our monthly SSC (School Site Council) meeting takes place every 1st Tuesday of the month.

 

Padre Voluntario-

Cuando se es un padre voluntario se tiene la gran oportunidad de ser el primero en enterarse de los eventos, reuniones y talleres para padres.Los padres voluntarios también tienen la gran ventaja de desarrollar una relación con el Director, maestros y personal de la escuela.

 

Talleres de Padres-

Offrecemos muchos talleres para padres sobre muchos temas diferentes que son muy útiles en la vida cotidiana de los padres.

            Algunos de los temas que hemos ofrecido en el pasado son salud mental, desarrollo de adolescentes, salud de la mujer,

          

            Concilios y Comités

            En  nuestro comité de padres y concilio  decidimos la  distribución de los presupuestos de la escuela, se toma de decisiones sobre cuestiones relacionadas con la escuela y se recibe datos de la escuela a primera mano. Nuestra reunión mensual del ELAC (Comité Consejero para el Aprendiz de Ingles) se lleva a cabo mensualmente cada tercer viernes del mes y está  abierto a la comunidad. Nuestra reunión mensual del SSC (Concilio Consejero Escolar) se lleva a cabo cada primer martes del mes.
